After Fortnite Battle Royale launched in September - slap-bang in the middle of PUBG's rise to Steam Chart dominance - publisher Bluehole expressed concern that Epic were literally just ripping off their core ideas. Though that fizzled out at the time as the company pondered on how to take "further action", this has now manifested as Bluehole suing Epic Games for copyright infringement.

Do Bluehole have a case, or are game mechanics to flexible to be "owned"?

As part of a recent earnings call, EA CFO Blake Jorgensen discussed how Bioware's make-or-break project Anthem, likely won't launch with microtransactions.

This is almost definitely a response to the likes of Belgium and China changing their laws surrounding loot box implementation, and means the game could struggle with balance and progression.

A major leak detailing various E3 plans over on ResetEra has confirmed "Shadows Die Twice" is not "Souls-adjacent".

Connecting the dots ("Shadows die twice" is a line said by a boss in Tenchu, and it was once a sizeable franchise bearing FromSoft's name), it nigh-on confirms the series is making a comeback.

Alongside Sony's Ghost of Tsushima, is 2018 the return of the ninja?
